Brookies, Tigers, Snapping turtles, oh my!

In the last month I've been on an absolute tear around the UP.  I've hit like 20 new fishing spots in the last month alone.

Not only new spots, but entirely new rivers that I never previously even touched.

My adventures are bringing me to some awesome spots and I'm so glad for the opportunity of being a teacher and having my summers semi-free to be able to enjoy these types of shenanigans.  Last week I caught a beautiful brook trout and then some rainbow trout the same night and then the next day I caught my personal best TIGER musky and a few days after that I had a snapping turtle try to eat my smallmouth that I had hooked on my rod.

Nutty.  Just nutty.

I am working on my end goal vision of getting my guide service up and running officially. I’ve been taking people out fishing and guiding them unofficially for a few years - but for nothing in return but the love of fishing and the fun of it (which is a great reason to guide, but a bit of cash on the side is nice as well.) I am in the process of turning my hobby into something more sustainable for the future. So far I am doing great putting new people on fish - getting both muskies and smallies.

Let’s see what the rest of 2018 has in store - and then 2019, 2020, and on!

Check out the pictures below of the brookie, rainbow, tiger musky, and other fish I caught recently!

As always.

Catch.

Release.

Wander.

C'est la vie.

Pura vida.

Carpe diem.
